A family focus - both professionally and personally!

Winchester Caravans is well known as a family-run, family-orientated business with a friendly and welcoming atmosphere. With family in mind, we’re excited to announce that three of our staff members will soon be welcoming new additions to their own families!

Accessory Shop Sales Assistant, Lucy, and her partner Jordan, (pictured right) are expecting their first child on 7 August. Lucy said:

“We’re expecting a little girl (I hope she’s little!) and I plan to go on maternity leave at the end of June. The way I found out about my pregnancy is a bit of a funny story! It was at 3 o’clock in the morning, I was half asleep and in a rush to get ready as my colleague Lewis was due to pick me up at 5am to catch a flight to Glasgow to film some awning walkthrough videos at Vango HQ.  

“I didn't quite believe the test to begin with; my fiance was working away that week so I tried to keep it to myself, but I couldn't, so Lewis was the first person to know! Seeing the Vango videos play in the showroom evokes fond memories of the day I found out!

“James and the team here have been extremely understanding and helpful, especially in my first trimester when I was dealing with morning sickness and mood swings. They’ve made me feel very relaxed at work and allowed me to take on more of a seated role, whilst the guys do the heavy lifting for me. They’ve also been flexible with all my appointments which is much appreciated.

“I’m very much looking forward to introducing my little girl to our very large family, work family and her fluffy sister Lola. I can't wait to introduce her to animals and I hope she's as animal-mad as I am. I also can't wait to have a shopping buddy as her father isn't much of a fan!”

Sales Manager, James, and his partner Tams are expecting their first child together later this month. James said:

“We’re having a little girl and she’s due on the 19th May! We chose a name a few months back but it will remain a secret for now, so to everyone else she is Baby M! I’m so excited about having my first baby with Tams; I’m a little older than I was when I had my first two, but that means that I’m also a lot calmer as a result!

“Everyone at work has been great; they gave us a lovely present and James has been brilliant, allowing me to attend all the scans and appointments. Once the baby arrives I get two weeks’ paternity leave to spend with Tams and Baby M. I’m looking forward to those first cuddles, her first smile but a little wary about that first nappy!!  A recent midwife appointment revealed that Baby M is fully down now so hopefully it won’t be long until we get to meet her!”

Workshop Manager Ryan, and his partner Leah are expecting their second baby on 19 August. Ryan said:

“We decided not to find out the gender of the baby as we didn't with our first child (who's now two), and we enjoyed the surprise! We’re both very excited, and happy that our daughter will soon have a brother or sister! The company has supported me throughout the pregnancy, allowing me to attend all the scans as well as accommodating any other pregnancy-related requirement, which has been great.”
